Две точки, расположенные вблизи противоположных концов намагниченного стержня, в которых сконцентрирован его магнетизм. Эти две данные точки полюсов обычно обозначаются красным цветом на конце стержня, обращенного к северу, и синим - на конце стержня, обращенного к югу.
